The Council

Thrushleton SignParish Councils are non-political bodies whose members serve the local community by dealing with local issues and who work closely with the Borough Council.

Parish Councillors are elected or co-opted onto the Parish Council to serve a four year term. Meetings are now held monthly except for December - with additional Planning Meetings scheduled when necessary – with all meetings being held in the Victory Hall, Lewdown. There is also an Annual Parish Meeting (as opposed to the normal Parish Council meeting) which is usually held in April of each year, which is open to all members of the community giving them the opportunity to meet their local Councillors and to discuss any relevant issues they may wish to raise.
